Man accused of Austin synagogue arson pleads guilty to 2 charges AUSTIN (KXAN) — A man accused in the 2021 arson of an Austin synagogue pleaded guilty to two charges.According to court documents filed April 21, Franklin Barrett Sechriest pleaded guilty to arson and hate crime damage to a religious property. Hiker dies after falling over cliff in Pitkin County PITKIN COUNTY — A hiker died after falling down a gully and over a cliff near Heckert Pass in Pitkin County Saturday morning, according to the Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office.The hiker’s body was recovered by a Colorado National Guard helicopter crew after a Mountain Rescue Aspen (MRA) drone located the hiker’s location between the pass and Peirre Lakes Basin, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.A friend of the hiker sent messages to the Pitkin County Regional Emergency Dispatch Center via the hiker’s Garmin inReach SOS device. SWAT team deployed to assist police with barricaded assault suspect in Long Beach  Police in Long Beach investigating an altercation between a man and a woman that escalated and led them to call in members of the SWAT team.
