LONDON (AP) — Tottenham’s hopes of qualifying for the Champions League were dented after a 3-2 loss to Bournemouth following Dango Ouattara’s stoppage-time winner on Saturday.A wild Premier League game was won by the visitors after goals by Matias Vina and Dominic Solanke were added to by substitute Ouattara. It earned the Cherries some revenge after their late pain in the reverse fixture in October. It capped a bad afternoon for Spurs’ acting head coach, Cristian Stellini, who substituted a substitute — Davinson Sanchez — after the defender’s poor 23-minute cameo and saw his aggressive tactics cost his team. Tottenham had six attackers on the field in the final minutes.Tottenham remained in fifth but has Aston Villa just three points behind and a critical three-game week against top-four rivals Newcastle and Manchester United coming up. Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy faced more chants during the team’s 10th defeat of the league season.Kickoff was delayed by 15 minu...

WOLVERHAMPTON, England (AP) — Diego Costa’s first Premier League goal for six years helped fire Wolverhampton closer to survival on Saturday. The striker inspired the hosts to a 2-0 win over Brentford to end his wait for a goal after his September arrival.Hwang Hee-chan netted the second, with Wolves now seven points clear of the relegation zone with seven games left after successive league wins for just the second time this season.Julen Lopetegui’s side edged toward safety and another barnstorming Costa display sparked memories of his bullying best at Chelsea.Ninth-place Brentford’s European hopes continue to fade after a damaging defeat. Wolves opened the scoring after 27 minutes. It was all down to Costa’s driving run from midfield as he charged forward to pick out Toti on the left. The striker continued into the box to collect Toti’s cross, evade Christian Norgaard and poke past David Raya from 12 meters for his first goal in English football since the 2017 FA Cup final.Wol...

Darnell Washington once considered UM in his recruitment; could Dolphins bring him to Miami in NFL draft?

Published Tue, 04 Mar 2025 15:03:29 GMT

Georgia tight end and 2023 NFL draft prospect Darnell Washington’s football career nearly brought him to Miami once.It was the summer of 2019, and Washington was a five-star recruit from Las Vegas. Flying across the country, he was the star of the Miami Hurricanes’ marquee recruiting event, Paradise Camp, with current UM quarterback Tyler Van Dyke, then a four-star recruit from Connecticut, continuously finding the mammoth tight end in 7-on-7 drills.Washington considered Miami significantly in his recruitment but ultimately decided to become a Georgia Bulldog. Now, Washington, who officially measured in at 6 foot 7 and 264 pounds at the NFL scouting combine, could interest the Miami Dolphins as they are surely looking to fill a need at the position in this draft. It would probably take either a trade up or an unexpected drop in the draft for Washington for Miami to select him. The massive tight end is widely projected to be taken off the board by the time the Dolphins make...

Local residents were seen helping to keep the activists away from the course. The race was briefly delayed as a result and the 39 horses were kept in the parade ring.Corach Rambler didn’t appear to be affected by the disjointed buildup and gave trainer Lucinda Russell a second victory in the Grand National in...
